With local hands and unwavering determination, this canvas was transformed into the well-known Swasey River Farm. Here, amidst orchards and vegetable gardens nourished by the rich riverside soil, was cultivated a bounty that sustains both body and soul. A dedicated local team tends to a symphony of sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens, ensuring that life flourishes in harmony with the natural world. As the farm grew, so too did the many requests from visitors for BnB accommodation in this laid-back jungle setting to this end the first cabana and a delightful pool was built. Soon thereafter the local prestigious Belize Tourism Board (BTB) certification was granted. The demand was so much that a second cabana was commissioned with a 3rd is on its way. There is yet another feather to this bow, a full-on bar and lounge area that caters to the very popular pig on the spit Sunday lunches and the wood fired Pizza days. Chef Angie serves farm to table delights, utilizing the freshest local ingredients. The main house is a 1-bedroom affair with a beautiful lounge area reminiscent of a big game viewing platform, affording one a vista over the fruit trees and gardens. Downstairs is the cold-room and processing area for the farm’s sought after preserves, and dried meat products. Chicken runs are home to a large number of chickens which produce genuine free range eggs which are sold in Placencia Village a short drive away. Extra pens provide for pigs etc. 300 odd Cacao trees were planted in 2017 alongside Coconut, lemon, lime, Papaya, Avocado, banana, cashew and Mulberry..
